Winter Term Session A 2011 Old Testament Survey
Two years ago I took this same class. Somewhere around the third week, I became seriously ill and had to take a leave from school for just under a year. I have been dreading coming back to this class. However, I have learned that the Old and New Testament validate each other. A person cannot have a solid Christian life with only one side of the Bible. To use one side and ignore the other is to deny Jesus Christ. Let me explain. According to the text for this class, The Old Testament is all about Christ and His coming. The New Testament is the fulfillment of Jesus Christ coming, ministering, fulfilling the prerequisites of the Law (set by God) being crucified according to prophecy, and being buried. Even the resurrection from the dead is in there! But the story does not end there. The truth of the Bible is fulfilled in us by the power of the Holy Spirit with the promise that Jesus Christ will come again soon to catch His church away. Do we know the day, the hour, or the means? No but we do know that Jesus will come again to gather His Church back to Himself...Are you ready?
