Perfect Love Cast Out ALL fear.

This past year has been one of transition for me. I have come to a grand conclusion that there are some relationships that do not glorify God and need to be removed from my life. I recently met a person who has really transformed what it means when 1 John 4.18 says, "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love". (1 John 4.18 NIV) The concept that a human person can have a human connection that is along the lines of connecting with God. Wow! I have felt this love for God, but never for a person, It is truly amazing how things can change for the Glory of God in a real way.

Jerry: Rj that is a very good way to look at the scripture. How do we truly obtain perfect love? Is this something we gain overtime as Christians or is it simply something we wish we could obtain? Do we as Christians truly know what perfect love is? christiansupfront.org (07/11/12)

(Anon): Jerry writes: "that is a very good way to look at the scripture. How do we truly obtain perfect love? My Response: Jerry Perfect love is a gift of God that comes by Grace through faith. 1 John chapter four tells us that if we as Christians do not have the Love of God--in an upward and outward direction, we are not truly who we say we are as Christians. Can the Love (perfect love) be attained? Absolutely! When one comes to know Jesus Christ as Lord. this is the only way to activate the Perfect Love that cast out all fear. When one experiences the Love of God for themselves, it should be a realization that God desires nothing less in our human relationships. I hope this answers your question, or at least gives you something more to ponder. (04/10/13)
